Interesting fishing attack supported by SPAM against Strato customers

A couple of days ago one of my mail servers got spammed ... massively. That's not uncommon but I rarely see idiots mail-delivery-failure spamming just 1 system account with ~ 60,000 mails. But that wasn't the surprise.

According to Vox a student from Aarhus university in Denmark, which denies any involvement in the actions, thought it was appropriate to leech 70,000 profiles from OkCupid, an online dating platform, and publish it to Open Science Framework, which is a collaboration platform to share raw data.

The good news first. The developer in question never had a relevant role in the Tor project. So if you're worried that he might have placed malicious code into Tor it's quite safe to say that he hasn't. He was working on Vidalia, a GUI frontend.

Maas entlässt Generalbundesanwalt: Die Lachnummer hat endlich ausgelacht.

Nach heftiger Kritik am Justizminister und am Ministerium durch Range hat Maas mit reichlicher Verspätung die Reißleine gezogen und Harald Range in den Ruhestand versetzt. Die Entscheidung kommt viel zu spät und hätte schon vor dem Skandal um Netzpolitik stattfinden müssen.

HackingTeam is the victim and I couldn't care less about it.

In a press release HackingTeam complains about how it's portrayed in the media - and probably in general. Mostly about the fact that they are the victim and this fact isn't really covered at all. And I'd agree. But I also don't give a shit.
