Over 80 million Mexicans have their data leaked on the net

More than 80 million Mexicans got their data spilled on the net. Chris Vickery found what looks like the entire Mexican voter database (with according records) on an Amazon cloud server configured for full on public access. Apparently the database seems to be provided to political parties by the government and is watermarked with bogus entries to identify the source.

It's not yet entirely clear whether the party fucked up royally or if the database was stolen and then made public. To me it doesn't really smell like the latter. Chris' article is worth a read. It's groundhog day all over again and again and again and again ...
